Jason's Story

“I used to be a lawyer and a judge.  At the age of 30, I developed a horrible addiction to cocaine, methamphetamine, and alcohol.  This was after 30 years of relatively ‘normal’ drinking and using habits.  At the age of 35, after my second felony arrest for drug possession, I lost everything.  I lost my license to practice law, my business, 2 homes, 7 vehicles, all my worldly possessions of any intrinsic value, my marriage, and my dignity.  I was on the news no less than 10 times during 2005, being humiliated, emasculated, and publically assassinated in the press.  My spirit was dying.  I had no hope, and I believed I had no future.  Quite simply, I was broken in every way that a man can be broken.
           “When I came to Purple, I was willing to do anything I had to in order to save my life.  The staff went to extraordinary lengths to get to know me personally and to learn about my particular addiction issues.  As hopeless and depressed as I was, the staff literally pumped optimisim and solution into my veins on a daily basis.  They showed me how to recover, and more importantly, held my hand every single step of the way.  Because the staff was experienced in recovery themselves, they actually made me believe that if they could do it, I could do it.  And I did.  I have not put a drink or a drug into my body for several years.  Before Purple, I couldn't go 4 weeks without drinking or using.  I'm happier today than I've ever been, and I am on track to reclaim my life in a way that is far superior to anything I could have accomplished before I got into recovery.  And I am certainly not the last miracle Purple will produce either.  You can be next if you allow yourself to be.”
