Matt's Story
"Prior to coming to Purple I weighed 115 lbs. I was unable to stop drinking and using despite all the consequences I had suffered. I had sold all of my musical instruments along with some of my friends possessions as well. Stealing money and credit cards from my parents, I was willing to go to any length to get cocaine and alcohol. I wanted to die. I was only 19, but I was ready for something different.
I arrived at Purple tired and broken. I wasn't sure what would come of my time at Purple, but a big part of me was hopeless...hopeless, but desparate for a solution to my problem. That desparation proved to be my saving grace. Slowly but surely, that desparation turned into a willingness to do anything and everything to stay sober. Since leaving Purple I have found that my life only continues to get better so long as I continue to live the way that Purple taught me."
